Growing Citrus Trees In The Ground - Step By Step
First
step:
Remove the citrus tree carefully from its
original packaging and lightly mist the exposed
roots with water. Gently tug on the roots to loosen
them from their tightly compacted form.
Second
step: You will need a small shovel for this
step. Dig a hole at least two times deeper and wider
than the citrus tree root ball. Make sure the
location you chose will allow the citrus tree to
receive at least eight hours of sunlight per day.
Add two to three scoops of sand into the hole and
mix to combine.
Third
step: Place the roots of the citrus tree in a
container filled with water. Carefully swish the
plant back and forth to remove the packing soil from
the root ball. Place the Citrus tree into the dug
hole and cover with soil.
Fourth
step: This is a very important step due to the
fact that you do not want to over water the tree.
Keep the soil moist with regular watering every
other day for the first couple of weeks. After the
first couple of weeks taper only water your tree to
one to two times a week. Apply a regular feeding of
organic fertilizer according to the label
instructions.
