Basic Care Instructions for Growing Your Indoor Citrus Trees

Fruit Tree Growing Information

Citrus Tree Placement/Conditions:

Placement is key when Growing your Meyer Lemon Tree indoors. You must keep your tree in the ideal temperature range. Citrus Trees thrive in temperatures ranging from 55 degrees F to 70 degrees F. The trees need adequate sunlight for maximum output and growth. Meyer Lemon Trees requires at least 8 hours of sunlight a day. If you cannot provide this, do not worry, you can supplement with fluorescent lights (60 watt) for 10 to 12 hours per day.

Fruit Tree Watering:

You will need to water your tree at least one to two times a week, sometimes more often if the soil starts to dry out. Beware of over watering, that is a common mistake people make. We recommend purchasing a moisture meter to help you regulate how often you water your tree.

Fruiting/Harvesting:

To get the best yield, reduce the lemon clusters to just one or two lemons so that the branches do not break. The fruit will be very tiny at first but will plump up in a matter of weeks. Fruits are usually ready to be picked about 3-4 months after the first bloom. As soon as your fruit is plump and completely yellow (no green) they should be ripe and ready to eat! Be careful not to break the branches, gently pull the fruit from the branch.
